On 3rd of Nov. 2018, we conducted the ground-breaking ceremony of our Waste to Energy plant at Jamnagar. We began the day with an orientation session for the team. After this, it was time to lay the Foundation Stone. We conducted a puja to seek blessings for the project.

We also started work on the green belt of the site, with a plantation drive. The Municipal Commissioner and Deputy Municipal Commissioner of Jamnagar Municipal Corporation, planted the first saplings. Representatives of Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Limited (PGVCL), Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited (GETCO), as well as Essar also participated in the plantation drive.

The waste to energy plant will process 400 tonnes of waste every day, and generate 7.5 MW of clean power for the city of Jamnagar.

Mr. Aditya Handa, MD & CEO – Abellon, congratulated the team on this special milestone.

Abellon is also setting up waste to energy plants in other key cities of Gujarat. The plants are coming up under private public partnership model with municipal corporations of different cities.
